3/2020: English Language Learning Profiles

The Chinese language has more users, but mostly they are native speakers and limited in some countries. English has only 335 million native speakers, but it is they most want to study, there are 1,500 million learners around the world. Washington post the world's languages 


                                  


In Thailand, we don’t use English as an official language to communicate with each other. People hardly practice English in daily life, but thinking about traveling outside Thailand, after you step out of Suvanapum airport, everything is in English. So, my goals to study English can be divided into personal life, academic, and future professional as following.


  • Personal life 

    • Watching YouTube, movies, and reading interesting stories help me to relax. Most information on the internet is in English. I follow Matsimus, the Military matters channel, presented by Canadian soldiers and Simple History Channel by the historical teacher teams. I am also interested in space technology, World War II, and the development of the military machine and battle strategies. I found that the document in the English version provides much more comprehensive information. I like to watch sci-fi and war movies with an English soundtrack, which is more pleasure than translation to Thai. While I am surfing the internet, I am learning more English.

  • School life

    • Excellent academic performance with proficient English can allow me to study abroad. I may get a scholarship offer to study at a famous university where teaches about space and military technology. All good textbooks related to the subjects are English. I need to learn English to get a better education. 

    • My academic stay in Canada, although it was a short time, also gave me some experiences of why I have to learn English. My friends there would talk to only friends who can communicate English. This experience motivated me to level up my English skill.   • Professional life

    • English is like a weapon for me to achieve my dream. I want to establish my own company for design and build the military machine. English can help me to present, sell, negotiate with my international partners and customers. If I sell the products only in Thailand, I will get a few customers, but if I sell worldwide, I will get many more customers. English will help me to grow unlimited in the borderless world.



English is a common language. Non-native English speakers learn English for different reasons, and for me, English is one of the skills I need to have to achieve my dream and enjoy my peaceful life.

  Thai NavyLand Trip Dear Director, Royal Thai Navy Tourism Center   We are proud to receive the great opportunity to provide community service during our school summer holiday to promote ThaiNavyland for the Royal Thai Navy community and tourists by creating short videos on TikTok social media platform.
