Dear Dad, How are you doing? For me, it's going well. Here I am in Samut Prakan located in the eastern part of Bangkok. I’m at my grandmother's house, near the sky train station, not far from the Bangpoo Industrial Estate. Samut Prakan is a province near the coast of the Gulf of Thailand. I am very near to the Mangrove forest, what a chance!  Samut Prakan has the most enormous and unique Erawan museum. The Erawan Museum is a 250-ton bronze 3 headed elephant with a size of 29 meters tall and 39 meters long.   It explains the 3 worlds of the Universe following the signature of both Buddhism and Hinduism into the art of 3 level floors. The first floor represents an underground world decorated with Chinese vases from the Ming and Qing dynasty and also placards. The second floor represents the earth or the human world decorated with ceramic and European vases. There is a statue of Guanyin and a Chinese Goddess with a thousand arms. The third floor represents the heaven and B...

21/2021: Bering land bridge VS. Coastal migration

Image
Migration Theory   Bering Land Bridge:      Bering Land Bridge theory is how humans in the stone age built a land bridge across from Siberia to Alaska then later the New World. This theory was started in the Renaissance time by many Europeans trying to understand why humans were able to settle down in the new world. They began to discuss a land bridge stretching between Asia and North America 20,000 years ago.  In early 1590, the Spanish missionary, Fray Jose de Acosta was the first person who published writings about the “Bering Land Bridge ''. Later, Peter the Great of the Russian empire visited the Chukchi peninsula (Alaska) in 1682-1725, but still no sign of a land bridge. In the 1800s to 1900s, many American scientists searched areas around the west coast and tried to find the land bridge, but no sign. Later David M. Hopkins searched the range background of the Seward peninsula of Beringia. Then Hopkins found out with his team of Mary Edwards, Claudi...

20/2021: Fundamentals of Aerospace Engineering Part 1

Image
When everyone talking about aerospace, what do you think about it? Aerospace is how birds can fly and why we can build machine-like planes and rockets to meet our demands of "Human flying". Most of you might study some about air passes of objects in Physic class, but this is not what you think. Aerospace is more like a method that we use to design planes to be compatible with birds that we see since 2,000 years ago, but how we can make that object fly in the sky?      In the Renaissance, the most well-known artist like Leonardo da Vinci describes flying in his own methods. He said, "We should build a plane that acts exactly like birds." So he begins with many experiments with wood and papercrafts to be like bird wings. He also adds a lot of metal parts, that later become a bike, but in his time, it's a helper to move wings.     After the end of the Renaissance, Sir Issac Newton was birth in science. He found the power of earth gravity from apple drop on hi...

19/2021: COVID 19- 4th wave 2021

Image
It's happened again. The COVID-19 in Thailand has come back as a more difficult situation than the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd waves combined together. The doctor, police, and everyday person in every part of the community might be well prepared since the ending of the second wave, but there are too many selfish anti-government groups, online terrorists, and rich people who don't care about any consequence, just want the money from the rich community of selling mRNA vaccine and Impaired Chinese vaccine.  After the Songkran break in April 2021, the pandemic spread throughout the countries, especially the Bangkok region of Thonglor, failing to stop. It continues the situation from the 3rd wave with Alpha type from Britain. Four months later, the situation was changed by both good and bad news. The good news is that Thailand had brought Sinovac and AstraZeneca to vaccinate people from 7 types of dangerous illnesses and old people first and others will be next. The super bad news is that ...

18/2021: Anna and the King of Siam

Image
Anna Leonowens (Jodie Foster), a British widow, has come to Siam with her son Louis (Tom Felton) to teach English to the dozens of children of King Mongkut (Chow Yun-fat). She is a strong-willed, intelligent, valiant, and benevolent woman for her time, which pleases the King. Mongkut wants to modernize Siam, thinking this will help his country resist colonialism and protect the ancient traditions that provide Siam its identity.       Mongkut and Anna discuss differences between Eastern and Western love, but he dismisses the notion that a man can be happy with only one wife. Hoping to impress Britain's ambassadors, Mongkut orders a sumptuous reception and appoints Anna to organize it. During the reception, the King spars graciously and wittily with Sir Mycroft Kincaid (Bill Stewart), of the East India Company. The Europeans express their beliefs that Siam is a superstitious, backward nation. Mongkut dances with Anna at the reception.  ...

17/2021: In Memory

When I studied Kindergarten 3, I was trained to swim like a Navy SEAL training. My parents believed that discipline is the most important manner for successful gentlemen in the future. They chose swimming for me because swimming is building discipline and strengthening the body and necessary skills for survival. They hired the coach, the former Thai national swimmer, who has plenty of scars on his muscle, rarely smiles from  his face, and fierce teaching style taught me to be a good swimmer and a skillful diver like a submarine. I swam very hard every day for 6 months at many public swimming pools although my village provides a private and safe swimming pool for all villagers. My coach wanted me to try various swimming pools to gain experience in different environments. I had to swim on a rainy day and some on a very cool day. I tried so hard till my arms were shaped like paddles. Once the time came for the race, it led me to my undeletable memory.      There...

16/2021: COVID 19- 3rd wave 2021

It's happened again. From the end of 2020 to the beginning of 2021, the COVID-19 in Thailand has come back as a more difficult situation than the 1st wave and 2nd wave. The doctor, soldier, police, and everyday person in every part of the community might be well prepared since the first and second wave, but there are too many to defend because some selfish rich people, particularly the bad officers who do not care about the consequence, just want the money from the rich community in pubs and bars.  On 1 April 2021, the pandemic spread throughout the countries, especially the Bangkok region of Thonglor, failing to stop. Thonglor is the first part of Bangkok that found the spreading due to illegal night out of rich people and VVIP government workers. Other seventeen provinces including Chiang Mai, Chonburi, Samut Prakan, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Samut Sakhon, Pathum Thani, Nakhon Pathom, Phuket, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nonthaburi, Songkhla, Tak, Udon Thani, Suphanburi, Sa Kaeo, Rayong...

15/2021:Exploration of Deep Sea

Image
Exploration of the deep sea is the study of the sea bed by using physical, chemical, and biological. Humans are investigating and understanding mainly what the ecosystem of the sea looks like. We can find the deepest place like the Challenger depth of the Mariana Trench near the Philippines coast.  The first person, Ferdinand Magellan, made his first exploration in the Pacific sea at 2,400 feet underwater in 1521. The world record of the deepest person is Victor Vescovo in 2019, he reached the bottom of Challenge depth in Mariana trench.  The tools we can use today are called “submarine”. From weapons of war to exploration tools, it’s proven that it can go anywhere in the ocean.  Since World War I and II, German use their U boat very effectively to the Allies' ships to England. In the Cold war, the U.S. used it against the attack of Soviet subs. To make one good sub, it needs a special material that has to be strong enough to handle the strength of water pressure. ...

14/2021: Beneath us

Earth crust: The Earth’s crust is found in a lithosphere layer, which is mostly a tectonic plate, which made 7 large plates that broke and separated since the Extinction of Dinosaurs is the largest one. It’s created more continents than before and mostly is the land we see today. The elements of the lithosphere are levels of different types of soil and rock.           The subdivision of it is the upper mantle and the crust, which settle on the tectonic plates. It is about 1% of the earth's whole volume.  Our crust divided into 2 types of plates are:  Continental: 5km (3mi)-10km (6mi) thick Oceanic: 30km (20mi)-50km (30mi) thick The Tectonic plates that were situated on and the Earth’s crust are like a plate on liquid magma. It’s like island flooding on a hot magma which has many places that have cracked from the past billion years. The most famous cracked line is the “Ring of Fire” in the Pacific ocean. From tectonic plates lead to the ...
