24/2021:One-sided argumentative writing

When teenagers enter traditional libraries, they will be very bored to find books that are on very large shelves. Although traditional libraries have a tremendous amount of books, whose responsibility is it to make sure those books are always up to date and don’t become pollution? Teenagers should be able to use more digital libraries which match their lifestyles and don’t generate pollution.

Teenagers’ lifestyles today involve using technology to study in schools. To use most functions of technology, a digital library would be a perfect choice. Parents and teachers tend to argue that teenagers should try to overcome the tame feeling, if teenagers can accomplish that feeling, they will not be able to enjoy their learning life. Parents and teachers aren’t always right that teenagers should read books from the traditional library and not suffer in class. After a few years of learning, teenagers will realize that reading books in a digital library can receive the same information and eventually update information. From my personal experience insisted on using the traditional library books. The next day in class, I barely kept concentrating on the board and did not learn much. I started to confuse the information the teacher explained and compared it to the explanation in the books. I decided to research more online and I found more updated information. I was able to regain knowledge and test performance and also enjoy a lifelong-learner style. Thus, teenagers can gain experience by learning from new technology and having an easier life.

Traditional libraries can create more pollution than digital libraries. Parents and teachers are already stressed and arguing about educating and preventing global warming, but when they ask teenagers to study, they decide to tell a teenager to use the traditional library, which is full of books. Books are paper, and it is all produced from tree cutting, which damages the balance of nature between carbon dioxide and oxygen. This problem has been made worse by paper manufacture, printing, and transport, which all create much worse environmental footprints. If we need to produce more new traditional-style books to fit into the traditional library, global warming will become more intense on our planet every year. How about old waste books that have to be thrown away in the trash or burned off after the updating? Is there another way that will not waste our environment and save our world from global warming? Do we need a change in our trend of reading books? Research has shown that books can harm our environment more than you think. A single book that weighs 500 g is approximately 1.2 kg of CO2. The total greenhouse gas emissions caused by the production and use of one tonne of books amount to approximately 2,322 kg of CO2. The carbon footprint of an individual book is equal to the greenhouse gas emissions of a journey of approximately 7.3 kilometers in a new car (CO2 = 164 g/km). So, rather than arguing against each other, why don’t all of us work together to stop the global warming crisis?

Finally, it could be argued that traditional libraries aren’t necessarily the same as before. As a result, teenagers should be taught to use more digital libraries so they will be able to enjoy their lifelong learning and fit their own lifestyle. It is another way everyone can help simultaneously without being stressed by the global warming crisis. Everyone will have a great experience of learning about life and overcoming global warming together.
